If I was not in the woods squeezing between trees all the time that would probably work well. I had an old Daewoo that had one mounted in the cab. I'm going to have to see if that is doable in my S510. My neck and shoulder are too old and stiff to be turning and craning like I could 30 years ago.

That would never work for me, I hope it works for you.

I have had to change out my starter relay on my 542B twice in 30 years. Most frequently in a situation where I get nothing or just a click it is a bad ground or corroded connection. Good luck.

I had that happen on my Bobcat 542B yesterday. Several taps with a hammer on the starter and it cranked again. I think I have a bad spot on the starter. Time to get it off and take a look to see if I need to replace it. Maybe you could try the old hammer trick on yours. GL

I have done this with gas tractors several times with good success. Especially mid season when I didn't want to take the machine down for any length of time. Sometimes you get lucky.

My computer antivirus started mid sentence, and I could not continue. I was saying even if you don't get many replies with some detective work you can often find someone that has had a similar issue. It is a painstaking task reading through all the posts but much better than proceeding...

I have dug a few graves, for horses, with my S510 Bobcat. It is not easy. Tell your boys to rent a backhoe when the time comes! Seriously, everyone needs to remember, there are lots of places we almost never see on our machines. Part of a good P.M. program is removing covers and cleaning crud...

I wish someone here could offer up some suggestions Joe. I have no experience with this issue. I am very surprised there has been no one with any ideas.

I usually stab myself before I start the job to get that out of the way before my hands are dirty.

I personally would never say "I will fix your machine"! I might say "I will attempt to fix your machine" but that's about as far as I would go out on a limb. I will, could cost you a months work and thousands of dollars. Just sayin.
