It has finally come to the time for me to re-home my S250, it just doesn't get the use it should, so time to send it out to pasture.
It has had an error 05-22 (charge pressure out of range low) for quite a while, i replaced the sender years ago with no change. Confirmed the pressure was spot on, so it's in no way low. I'd have thought low charge pressure would tell the computer to shut down too, but it seems it is not the case.
Has anyone had an issue like this? I could understand a short or something, but it just says out of range low, not open circuit, short etc. Mind you, for this sensor there are 5 states in the error book. Low, extremely low, shutdown level, out of range high, out of range low. Just not sure what they feel "out of range" is, there is too high, and there is too low, what other range?
Hopefully it doesn't come to it, but i may have to look up what pin these wires join to, then track it back to the magic box of voodoo to ensure the signal is getting back to it.
Failing this, black tape on the warning light :)

Hi Tazza, I don't have much to offer other than a flow chart that may help with diagnosis. Send me a PM with your email address and I will scan it and email it back to you.

Thanks for the offer BC873G, i do have the manual, so i have the flow and wiring diagrams, i do appreciate you offering though.
I hoped someone had the same issue resolved, but i don't remember an issue like this popping up on the forum before :)

Okay since you already replaced your charge pressure sender and checked the pressure with a gauge then I would lean toward an electrical problem. At your charge sender harness you should have 3 blue wire. On the harness connector you should see letters A,B,C. The "A" is your power supply to the sender it should be around 7.5-8.0 volts with the machine running. The "B" is your ground circuit that gets its ground threw the machine's computer. The "C" is your signal wire back to the machine's computer to tell it what the pressure should be reading by measurement of the voltage drop accordingly from the sender's ohms. I would check the continuity on all three wires. Sometimes there could be an intermediate break in the wires causing the code to appear on and off at times. The last thing I had seen is that the machine's computer is shorting out internally which is hard to test unless you have a good knowledge of printed circuit boards or a test computer of the same part # and model. If it is a computer problem and it needs replaced you will have to have a Bobcat dealership program the new computer before it will work correctly or if you know someone who has the Bobcat service software.Keep us informed.

Sorry i didn't reply to this sooner, been a big weekend, thanks fot the email too.
I'll give this a go when i get time to do it, hopefully it will help track down the issue.

I think I had this code come up the other day but haven't had time to look into it yet and haven't used the machine in a couple of weeks either. I'm going to look into it this weekend But same as you I wasn't overly concerned because the computer hasn't powered down the machine as of yet and everything seems fine, no smells or hot spots in the Bobcat. I also have the S250 also.
I'll get back to you when I get deeper into it. But If you figure it out before I do could you let me know what you came up with please.
thank you Daveb68
