I think the cover of the mag. has the manf.s name on it , so a search of that name might turn up something, years ago I had to buy a new mag. for a wisconsin , buying new old stock was cheaper than a rebuild if I remember right if you can find a match. powered coil might be your answer if the...
that is a volvo that is made by JCB , and I think they on that model made their own engine, shows a tc63, look at the starter and cross over the # and see what comes up, it might be a lucas.
the fuel pick up tube are plastic and do break off in tank quite often . those tanks are narrow and tall so if you replace the fuel gauge sending unit while you are there make sure the sending unit arm is not rubbing the sides of the tank.
well is they are nla from onan if you can find one anything just about (after market) is better than nothing. I know that starter and alternator repair shops are getting harder to find in my area, people just buy new which screws people who have old stuff that is no longer made and has to be...
I would think a 500 amp battery will do the trick if all else is in good shape, but it is very possible that your starter is on its way out drawing more amps than it normally should.
I wonder in the past the alt. was not charging and they put the hot on the exc post which I assume is the sense wire post? I have heard of this on 6 volt generator gas tractors converted to a automotive 12 volt one wire delco that you would have to rev. a bunch to get them start charging.
I would go to the fuse / relay panel and pull out relays and fuses one at a time till the display goes off. that away you will then know what circuit it is on. get wiring diagram an go from there. good luck
I would suggest a total tune up,but starving for fuel is what you describing ,which could be a fuel pump or maybe the governor, and carb ,. I do not know which onan you have but from what I remember when sourcing parts for mine( 2 cylinder opposed flat 14 hp. I think a ck series?) those...
I assume you mean cooler,? if you want to you can bypass the cooler as a temp. measure, but you are gonna have to watch your hyrdo temp. very well if used. but if you are just going to replace cooler cap them off during the change out.
if it works like I think it does you will have a ground thru the frame of the machine and a hot that energizes when the key is in the start position and a wire that stays on when in the run position.
I would think that when you turn the key on and machine not running you should have 12 volts at the alternator with a good battery, and go to 14.2 or so when running. Does the machine use a single wire type alt.? with maybe a smaller sense wire on it too?
flow rate does change some with engine rpm,I think I would get a hold of the manf. of the snow blower and ask them, they might suggest some kinda drain for excess oil from the motor back to the case, that is a GUESS.
